For the longest while I have been looking for ways to make my face seem more masculine using makeup. But I cant find any information on this. I found this company called Ben Nye that does stage makeup and they seem to sell high quality products with a great deal of foundation colors. Are these products okay for daily use ( not the heavy stage makeup obviously) over , lets say, MAC or LANCOME? It looks like they might have better stuff than MAC!
thanks!

are u gay?!? but go to ULTA . . . they have good stuff there!
Usually stage make up is more dramatic and stays on longer. ( so it does not melt under lighting and people can see it)
Go for LANCOME better quality
just dont
Actually, MAC is considered stage makeup. Regardless, it IS suitable for daily use, it all depends on application (the amount applied & products used).
I haven’t used Ben Nye, BUT I am a MAC fanatic & it will work just fine if applied lightly on a daily basis just as well as it works for being on stage.
stage makeup is thick and has very bright colors. regular makeup is lighter, more natural/normal looking.
you can use stage makeup as “regular makeup” but you should put it on lightly. mac>lancome.
Stage makeup is for the stage, regular makeup is for everyday. That being said, the difference is that on the stage it’s important the your features don’t wash out under the lights, and it is formulated to stay on longer, use with glues, prosthetics, with sweating, minor rubbing, etc that happens when you’re acting. It is not recommended for daily wear. Most stage actors are pretty meticulous about taking it off entirely and stuff used to take it off entirely isn’t probably stuff you want to use every day.
Does it work well, absolutely. It’s also assumed it will be viewed from a bit of a distance. Would I recommend it for everyday use, no. Use a regular makeup for everyday.
Regular makeup is usually formulated to be used everyday. It doesn’t usually sink into the pores, can be removed more easily, etc.
There are many fine makeup brands out there, some more expensive than others. Expensive doesn’t make it better. Personally, I use Bare Essentials, it’s easier to get the coverage and looks I’m trying to achieve.
To seem more masculine, my advice on makeup would be to find yourself a good makeup artist, tell them what you’re interested in (stronger chin, more chiseled features, etc) and let them help you towards the look you’re trying to achieve.
Have a fewer $ ? Try looking at some stage makeup books in the library, or check out a class at the local Junior College in stage makeup, and use those techniques with regular makeup.
Good Luck!
