Makeup for a Pageant!?
Im being in a pageant in about three weeks, and I dont know how to wear my make-up. Im going to merle norman and they are going to do it.Im also brining in my dress so they can match colors. For my age group they said its semi-glitz. I know what it means, but I dont think the person doing my makeup will. This is how im going to wear it[well its similiar, like how I want to look]:http://www.universalroyalty.com/crowder.jpg

Also,im going to be wearing fake eyelashes.Do I put them on before I get my makeup done? or after?

so… 14, semi-glitz, pink gown, brown/blonde hair, and green eyes…
obviously, have your hair done before… on to makeup…
first of all, do NOT let anyone at MN talk you into wearing Total Finish foundation… it turns very white under bright lights and in pictures, and will likely make you break out afterwards. this was my first experience with MN… my 2 sisters and i were all in a pageant in different age groups, and we all got our foundation done at MN… we have ghostly white faces in all our pics! it’s a miracle i ever went back, much less worked there, after that! anyhow, ask for Lasting (12-hour liquid) or Smart Finish (cream to powder) foundation, and make sure to let the girl know you want a matte finish.. you do NOT want to be shiney-faced under all the lights… the lights will make you shine enough already.
for colors, i would go with (obviously) a pink blush… maybe Real Rose or something similar… but pink, not bronzey or peach. you have a few options for eyes… a soft smokey eye, or pink shadow with a defined liner. smokey tends to look better on stage on most people, but if the judges will be positioned close to you (do you know the stage setup?), you should go with a light lid and classic liner, since you are only 14. so either a soft smokey eye in shades of browns with a hint of pink, or shimmery pink (ask for Sun Beam or Pink Halo.. or the mousse Sherbert Shock) with a dark grey eyeliner (black may be too harsh, but maybe not.. try both) obviously, lots of black mascara… and put on the falsies before makeup… and let the girl know beforehand you will have them on. for lips, pink and glossy is a must.. i would put a Lip Pencil Plus on (not sure which shade… pink and shimmmery), with Razzle Dazzle or similar shade Lip Vinyl on top. ask for Duskglo Wand to be brushed over your shoulders… it’s a nice shimmer powder wand.
also, these girls do work on commission, so i hope you intend to make a purchase. the best thing to pick up would be your lip colors, and maybe a powder.
best of luck, have fun, and i hope i helped!
Please, Please, PLEASE tell me that picture is not of a real little girl.. It looks like a little doll.
Depressing..
Eyelashes after. Also do you realize you want to look like a photoshopped/airbrushed picture??
idk about the eyelashes. dont wear them too often.
but as for how to do the makeup, its just a brown/dark brown (NOT black) eyeliner w/a gold liner highlight around ur eyes.
and then a shimmery pink gloss.
it shouldnt be that hard to explain to a makeup artist. if someone came to me and asked for that, id know what it meant.
Well, normally one puts on makeup according to their natural colouring. If you’re a blonde with light skin, I’d do light pinks, purples and find a light foundation. Don’t do bronze, try silver.
If you’re a brunette, you can go for darker pinks, purples, greens and browns. You can afford a light bronze and the foundation would be to your skin tone.
If you have black hair or an asian look, you should go for blood reds, dark greens, deep bronze and a bronzed foundation.
All of these techniques can be used regardless of your eye colour and the colours should be used with your clothes also. If you’re between a blonde and a brown (sandy blonde, light brown) and the like, you can have a wide variety of the options between the two.
Good luck and happy birthday!
yeah….this pic looks fake. looks like a doll, you should go natural.
