Covergirl Makeup Compact?

I have have bought a lot of covergirl makeup foundations and had it shipped to my place. Unfortunately, when i opened the box, some of the items had damaged packaging due to mishandling (i guess). I will giving these as gifts for a christmas party tomorrow and i dont know if i should keep them in their original box so theyd recognize these are new or should i take them off their packaging and just have them gift wrapped. fyi, if i take them off their packaging, i will have to remove the makeup sponge and put them right inside the compact itself. What do u think?

Keep them in the damaged box. It’s better for something to look a little banged up then potentially old/used. Try to salvage the boxes as much as you can. And when you give them out, make a joke about how Santa needs to get new shocks in his sleigh.
